Biography

LOK KERK HWANG PWS, born in 1973, is an award-winning watercolor artist as well as a Signature Member of Pennsylvania Watercolor Society (PWS). He has been a member of the Singapore Watercolour Society (SWS) since 1998, Singapore Art Society (SAS) since 2002, Malaysian Watercolour Society (MWS) since 2014 and Penang Watercolour Society (PWCS) since 2006.

Kerk Hwang has actively participated in both local and overseas juried exhibitions and his watercolour talent has been recognized by many prestigious competitions over the past 20 years. His latest achievements include winning The Jane Peterson Memorial Award in The Allied Artists of America, Inc. 103rd Annual Juried Exhibition (2016), The Combined Cash Award #2 in National Watercolor Society (USA) 95th Annual International Exhibition (2015), 3rd Place Award in Watercolor, Missouri International Annual Open Exhibition (2015), 2nd Place Award in 37th WAS-H International Exhibition, The Watercolor Art Society – Houston, USA (2014), Honorable Mention in Still Life category of The Artist’s Magazine Annual Competition (2014) and The Artist’s Magazine All Media Online Competition (2014), Creative Catalyst Award in 89th CSPWC Open Water Annual Juried Exhibition (2014). His has been juried into 204th Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (UK) Exhibition (2016), The American Watercolor Society 147th Annual International Exhibition (2014) and The Allied Artists of America, Inc. 101st, 102nd & 103rd Annual Juried Exhibition (2014, 2015 & 2016).

His works have been featured on the cover of leading European Watercolour Magazines “The Art of Watercolour” 16th Issue and “l’Art de l’Aquarelle” 22nd Issue September 2014 with a 6-page article story introducing his paintings to worldwide readers. He is also one of the 24 Artists sharing his latest paintings and step-by-step process in the newly launched Russian/English bilingual book “Master of Watercolor: From East to West” published in Saint Petersburg.

Kerk Hwang’s works are in the collections of corporations, governments, schools and many private individuals in Singapore, Malaysia, USA, UK, Canada and China.

1973年出生于马来西亚柔佛洲峇株吧瞎,马来西亚公民,新加坡永久居民。

师承中学美术启蒙老师,15岁时开始展露对水彩绘画的天份,1995年毕业于新加坡南洋艺术学院商业美术系后,负笈澳洲墨尔本工艺大学主修广告系,目前拥有自己的广告设计公司,百忙之中仍然努力不懈的耕耘专业水彩创作。

热爱生活,热爱绘画,是骆克璜的真实生活写照,对于平凡事物光影的生命力尤其着迷。1993年开始,他选择水彩画作为他专业的艺术发展空间。他善用感性的笔触及色彩道出他对生活的感受,将人们错失的片段用绘画的角度重新呈现,赋予热爱生活的朋友们无限的丰富想像空间。

骆克璜成功在新加坡及马来西亚槟城成功举办三次个人水彩画展。廿多年来他活跃於海内外水彩画展竞赛活动,水彩作品频获国际奖项肯定。他的最新水彩作品荣获美国艺术家联盟协会AAA第103届国际年展Jean Peterson纪念 奖, 美国全国水彩画会NWS第95届国际年展2015联合现金 奖#2, 美国密苏里水彩画会MOWS国际年展2015第三奖,美国休斯顿水彩 画会WAS-H国际年展2014第二奖,美国艺术家月刊杂志2014年美术比赛 静物组荣誉奖及全媒介美术比赛荣誉奖,加拿大水彩画会CSPWC国际年展 2014Creative Catalyst奖,以及成功入选英國皇家水彩画家協会(RI)第204 届国际年展2016,美国全国水彩画会(NWS)第95届国际年展2015,美国艺术 家联盟协会(AAA)第101, 102, 103届国际年展2014, 2015,2016及美国水 彩画会(AWS)第147届国际年展2014-这些都是国际水彩界公认最具权威性 的水彩竞赛。

2014年他的最新作品“晨光颂(五)”很荣幸被选为来自法国,印刷5万本发行超过30多个国家的水彩专业杂志水彩艺术2014年9月号秋季刊英文及法文版者。2015年他的多幅作品被俄罗斯出版社编入英俄双语版24位国际水彩名家画集,同时展示作画步骤。

骆克璜拥有美国宾夕法尼亚州水彩画会签名籍会员PWS及签名籍会员。他同时也是马来西亚水彩画会,马来西亚槟城水彩画会,新加坡水彩画会及新加坡艺术协会会员。他的作品获得政府机构,学校,私人机构及海内外收藏家典藏。
